This week's 10 things i'm thankful for

Last week I started to participate in a weekly blog hop that focuses on finding things to be thankful for. I think it's an awesome idea, not only for special needs parents but for everyone who is going through tough times. Things aren't always as bad as they may seem.

  1. My husband: Again, he is so understanding and supportive. I love you baby!
  2. Sophia's teachers and therapists: Once again, they showed me that they are there for me and Sophia and they made me feel that we are not alone.
  3. The time I get to spend with my baby: Everyday it's so much fun with Sophia, we laugh, we play and we learn everyday.
  4. Fat free cool whip: It's my guilt free dessert, a fruit bowl topped with this while I read blogs and I'm in heaven.
  5. Blog hops and blogger link ups: I have met incredible people thanks to these weekly  activities.
  6. My international call plan: For a small monthly fee, my mom can call me unlimited times at no cost to her. I don't know what I would do without our daily conversations.
  7. Consignment stores: I scored two awesome products this week. A maze cube and a child back-pack carrier, both for a lot less than half their original price.
  8. Black clothes: They definitely make me look thinner ;)
  9. Summer days: My husband and I love going for long rides with the windows down around our town. Sophia likes it too.
  10. Sophia's smile: Seeing her smiling makes everything look much better.

  2. What a wonderful list!

I am so with you on your no. 2 as I am very glad about my son's teachers and therapists, too! It is such an imporant thing in our lives!

I talk to my parents on the phone frequently, too, so I totally get why you are so happy on your international call plan! It is just great to be able to keep in touch with the family!

And, last but not least, seeing our kids smile is just priceless, isn't it? It should be on my list every week, too! :-)

  4. My good friend moved to Japan last year, and I am astounded at the opportunities we still have to keep in touch. As much as I'm grateful for this, I'm sure you are 10 times more so to stay in touch with your mom.
Fat free cool whip and fruit? Funny, I've never seen fruit as dessert, unless of course it's baked in a pie. :)
So glad you have wonderful people to support your husband, you, and Sophia in her education and growth.
Thank you for linking up with us again!

  6. I have to agree with In The Coop about the fruit, and even in a pie, I am not inclined to count it as a dessert...dessert has chocolate in it...in my world at least!

L.O.V.E. the pictures of your beautiful daughter...I can only imagine how her smile would light up any room. :)

  7. 5, 6 and 9 I can identify with...

    5) these blog hops are especially good for meeting new people (not being an overly out-going person) it brings me into contact with people in a way that has no pressure or stress

    6) now thats a very cool thing... we (Considerer and I) have been trying out the google+ hangout thing...video calls online (=no$!) takes a little getting used to but v cool

    9) totally speaks for itself... always a (better) time of year

  8. Sophia's smile is contagious! Lovely photos. And I'm so glad that you've found therapists and teachers who are so wonderful to work with and make you feel less alone. Not feeling alone in a confusing world of special needs is so important. We, too, have been blessed in that area and I'm extra thankful as I know others who struggle with their child's teachers/therapists.
    Great list!

    1. I know! I hear horrible stories about parents fighting all the time with the school to get what their kids need. This is something that is going to be on my list of things to be thankful for every week.

  9. Fat-free Cool Whip makes ANYTHING taste like dessert, even fruit! (That's for you, Christine.) Consignment shops are great fun. It's also fun to prowl around in thrift stores. You really never know what you'll find there and great prices! Goodwill is always a favorite.
