- My friends: I went out with some good friends of mine on Saturday and I had a blast! I am lucky to be part of this amazing group of girls. We ate, drank, laughed and cried. We had a great time!
- Drinks with chocolate in them: I had a vanilla vodka with Godiva white chocolate! Whoever invented this is a genius!
- Desserts: What would we do without desserts? (besides losing weight)? We had great food at this place but the desserts were to die for!
- My mother in law's back yard: It is huge, the grass is very green, a lot of flowers and a very nice garden. Sophia and I spent the day there today and it was perfect, she was playing in her little pool and I was relaxing having a cold drink enjoying the nice view.
- My blog visitors: It's very encouraging to know that a lot of people are stopping by and getting to know my sweet girl.
- Sophia's interactions with others: She is getting better and better every day. Sometimes she grabs my husbands's face or my face with her tiny hands and looks at us smiling and letting us know that she loves us. She had a moment like this with her grandmother today and I know it made my mother in law's day.
- Sophia's relationship with Lauren: Sophia's former 1-on-1 and now friend came to visit this week, and even though Sophia was a little confused in the beginning, she melted Lauren's heart by crawling to her and sitting on her lap and putting her head on Lauren's chest. I can tell this friendship is going to last.
- Central AC conditioning: A couple of weeks ago the AC broke down and we had a rough night with Sophia, luckily we got it fixed because the forecast for next week is going to be hot and uncomfortable.
- Access to good doctors: We looked for a second opinion about Sophia's hip surgery and we are fortunate to have different options, I know that some families are not that lucky.
- The fact I don't look my age: I've got to be honest here, I don't take good care of myself, I try to wash my face every night but that's about it and yet nobody guesses my age right, and they don't miss it by a year or two, sometimes even 6 to 8 years younger than I really am!!!! I should not take that for granted!
This girl!

I love number six! Isn't it amazing when our little people make us feel so loved with their simple gestures? Love that your MIL got to experience that with her granddaughter. Also, I'm jealous of number 10.
ReplyDeleteIt really is, when she does that it makes my day!
DeleteHa ha, my husband is younger than me one year but nobody can tell!!
1. I did the same thing Saturday night! Girlfriend time is NECESSARY! 2. That's a mighty big glass of "chocolate"! 3. Yum! 6. & 7. So happy that you can see progress with her! Sometimes it's harder when you're with her every day. Changes can be so subtle. 10. Embrace that! You'll REALLY be grateful for it in, oh, 30 years :)
ReplyDeleteYou know? with Sophia things are the same for a while and the all of a sudden there's something new she can do and she knows it and she is very proud of herself, it's really nice to see that! Ha ha, I'm grateful for it now!!
DeleteThe desserts look amazing! Yes, I agree, ANY drink with chocolate in them sounds good:) I want to try cold hot chocolate sometime. Your Sophia is adorable:) Yes, I agree, whoever invented A/C (central or otherwise) is a genius!
ReplyDeleteRight!? Alcohol and chocolate!!
DeleteI felt how the heat punched me in the face every time I open the door! I had to run inside where was nice and cool!
Good grief, that dessert looks marvelous. Did you lick the plate after eating it? I would have. I love desserts, with a capital L.O.V.E.
ReplyDeleteThose little bits of affection children show are simply precious. I don't think I have to tell you to cherish every single one, but I guess I did anyway.
Good friends are so important. Glad you have found a good group of ladies.
And I can't talk about you looking younger than you are. I'm too jealous.
I wanted to lick the plate but I did licked my fingers ;)
DeleteI do cherish them, she has a very special way to show me her affection and I LOVE it every time she does it!
Ha ha, we can talk about it when you are ready ;)
Yeah, Lauren said she doesn't want Sophia to forget about her so we are going to get together at least once a month.
ReplyDeleteHa ha, if Sophia could talk the things she would say!!!
That cocktail looks just plain delicious!!
ReplyDeleteYour time out with your friends sounds totally awesome. It is so important to have these retreats every now and then! And don't get me started on that dessert picture!
It is awesome that Sophia's 1:1 aide became your friend! And I am so glad to read about the second opinion on Sophia's hip!!
The cocktail was delicious, now that I am older I don't finish my drink anymore, but this one... this one I finished to the last drop!
ReplyDeleteThe second doctor thought that what the first doctor said made sense, so we are going to do the surgery (more on that later)but it's always good to double check.
Hayy tan rico lastima estar tan lejos para poder hacer estos planes, pero un día no muy lejano estaremos cerca solo tu y yo para disfrutarnos, disfrutar nuestro tiempo y nuestros hermosos hijitos.
ReplyDeleteUn besito
P.D: ese traguito se ve deliciosooooooooooo
