This week's TToT

First of all I want to apologize to all the blog hop bloggers for not replying to the very nice comments on my posts and for not leaving any comment on theirs. I haven't had time to read since I am trying to catch up with all the things that were on stand-by while Sophia was in the cast. This has been a busy and exciting week with a lot of things to be thankful for:

Ten Things of Thankful

1. The cast is off! Don't have to explain that one.

2. The wound is completely healed and her skin is very dry, but not irritated nor has any bed sores.

3. I started to work out again and it feels pretty good.

4. To see Sophia doing the things she loves so much like sitting on the floor and playing with her toys, or having a real bath in the tub or riding the shopping cart at the grocery store is priceless:

5. I reconnected with my dear friend from Colombia and I am so glad to confirm that our friendship is still strong after all these years apart.

6. This is my tenth year living in the USA and while I miss my family as much as I did on day one, I am so glad I stayed because here is where I found the love of my life and the best father for our beautiful daughter.

7.Talking about living in the USA, today I passed the test and interview to become a citizen of this great country. I am very excited and I really hope this will help my mom next time she asks for the visa to come and visit her granddaughter.

8. Colombia's national soccer team qualified for the World Cup for the first time after 15 years!!! I am so excited to see them playing in Brazil.

9. On-demand TV shows. I love that I don't have to stay up late to watch my favorite shows but I can watch them anytime I want.

10. Fall in New England. I love when the weather is a little cooler, but not too cold. I love my pumpkin flavored goodies, and the beauty of the leaves changing colors on the trees.

Have a great week everyone!

  1. Absolutely no apologies needed, m'dear - we know you've been so, so busy at the moment.

And YIPPEEEEE! The CAST IS OFF :D I'm sure Sophia's much happier now, and so pleased to hear that your vigilant care of her has ensured no bed sores or complications. Wonderful news :)

So glad you get to hopefully become a US citizen. I hope it works out, because it would be amazing for your mom to be able to come and visit you easily :) Fingers crossed for you.

  2. Love your list! I am so glad that the cast is off and that Sophia is so well with no sores and the wound in such good shape and being able to play again... so happy for you!!

Also, congrats on being a US citizen now (or is there still more you have to do for that?)!

I totally understand that you missed out on commenting and answering comments because it is just the same here with me and it bothers me so much. :-/

    1. Thank you Joy!
Nope, that's it! well, there's still a ceremony to be held on November 20 but it's only to make it official.
I know, right? it's like everyday I think: ok, today I am going to read and answer and comment and then something happens and I push it to the next day and then I never do.

  3. good blog...good news on the de-casting (not sure it that's a real word, but it should be), and re-connecting with others (over time) and finding the same good things is very, very good.

...now about how nice it is to get cold this time of year... lol

  6. So many good things this week!!
We've ever only had one child in a cast, and it was only three weeks on his arm. The day it came off was glorious as far as he was concerned. I can only imagine the sheer joy getting Sophia's cast off gave you all. So freeing!
Congratulations on becoming a citizen!! We are glad to have you! :)
Never, ever feel you must apologize for not commenting on the rest of our posts. It is not a requirement to link up. :) However, I know how it can seem like you are missing out if you don't. I love jumping around and reading everyone's posts.

  7. NO CAST AND CITIZENSHIP???? HOLY COW! Amazing week!!!!!! I cant imagine how good it must feel to have a cast off after that many weeks... It must be like getting out of wet, muddy clothing you've been wearing for a month!

  8. The cast is off! The cast is off! I'm not sure whether you or Sophia are happier about that!
Love the picture of Sophia in the Little Tikes car! My daughter had one of those and loved it. She wedged herself into it when she was way too big for it and cried when we sold it.
Isn't it wonderful to get "back together" with an old friend when you just pick right up where you left off last time you were together?
And citizenship? That is fantastic! We so take for granted our great country and the freedoms we have, and it's a reality check when someone like you is so excited to become a citizen.
Have a fabulous week, enjoying the fall weather and pumpkiny stuff!

  9. Some wonderful things to be thankful for - especially the cast coming off!
Congratulations for passing the tests, and becoming a citizen of the USA - I hope it helps your mum to visit, too :)

  10. You are doing a remarkable thing by attempting to follow the process to become a citizen. I applaud you greatly. Let's hope your efforts aren't stalled by the idiots shutting down the agencies! And, you've got an extremely cute daughter (one that will cause you much worry in about 14 years when the boys come calling, lol) I haven't had much luck with old friends. Unfortunately, I find they and I have changed greatly, and that we soon part because neither meets the expectations we had of each other derived from the past. I think it best for me to leave what's in the past, in the past. But, I seriously wish you much luck with yours! Great job!

  11. No need to apologize. Family priorities should come first. It sounds like you've had a wonderful week! Congratulations on both the cast coming off, and the citizenship test! I have friends who have become citizens in the past few years, and I know it's a fairly involved process.

  13. I love your list Natalia, congrats on everything, the cast is off, Sophia doing some of her favorite things, citizenship, the fall weather, reconnecting with old friends and of course World Cup Soccer!!! I didn't know that about Colombia not qualifying for 15 years, well, good for them for qualifying for next year. It will be great to see your team playing :)
